The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) yesterday reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young people across the country during the international youth day celebration in Soroti focusing on education, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and creating opportunities for youth to thrive.

UNFPA plays a pivotal role in shaping a brighter future for Uganda’s younger generation.

UNFPA highlighted its ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive education and SRHR services, ensuring that young people are equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health and lives.

These initiatives are seen as critical in enabling youth to reach their full potential and become active contributors to their communities.

UNFPA’s commitment comes at a time when Uganda’s youth population continues to grow presenting both challenges and opportunities.

By investing in  education and health of young people, UNFPA aims to address issues such as adolescent pregnancies and HIV, while also promoting gender equality and economic empowerment.

Through partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, UNFPA is working to create an environment where every young person can succeed and uplift those around them.
