ACCIDENT | At least three people were killed and one critically injured in a fatal crash on the Kampala-Masaka Highway on Wednesday night, Police have said.
According to the territorial traffic police in Mpigi, the accident occurred at about 11:40 pm in Kamengo.
Police say a Mitsubishi Fuso tuck registration number UAL 605 U and a Subaru Forester registration UBH 247L collided head-on at Kasuule Ayanguwa swamp.
The Mitsubishi Fuso, which was heading toward Masaka, collided head-on with the Subaru Forester.
Police did not reveal the identifies of the victims but said the driver of the Subaru was among the three people who died on the spot, while the critically injured, a passenger in the same vehicle, was rushed to Double Cure clinic in Mpigi.
The bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to the Gombe hospital mortuary for postmortem, while both vehicles have been towed to towed to Kamengo Police Station.
