Kenyan President William Ruto has called for united efforts to end ongoing conflicts in Africa, stressing the urgent need to “silence the guns” and restore peace, particularly in Sudan, Somalia, and Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
These conflicts, he noted, have caused immense loss of life, displacement, and the destruction of both property and livelihoods.
President Ruto also expressed his appreciation for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s pivotal role in peace initiatives in Somalia, Sudan, and the broader Middle East.
The two leaders discussed these issues during a joint press conference at the Presidential Headquarters in Cairo.
During their talks, both presidents emphasized the critical importance of regional cooperation in addressing the continent’s security challenges.
They also explored strategies to strengthen bilateral relations between Kenya and Egypt, focusing on sectors like trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
This meeting marks a reaffirmed commitment to promoting stability and sustainable development across Africa.
