Uganda has inaugurated a new business center in Dubai to support Ugandan entrepreneurs and attract investment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located at the Fairmont Hotel, the Uganda Business Center is positioned to strengthen trade ties between Uganda and the UAE.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja led the center’s launch, emphasising Uganda’s rich natural resources and vibrant population of over 45 million people. She highlighted Uganda’s abundant investment opportunities in sectors such as oil and gas, agriculture, tourism, logistics, ICT, and social services.

“Uganda is a nation blessed by nature, with a consistently green environment and welcoming people. We offer abundant opportunities for those interested in investing,” Nabbanja said.

Addressing business leaders and potential investors in Dubai, Nabbanja reassured them of Uganda’s commitment to safeguarding their investments.

The Ugandan delegation includes State Minister for Foreign Affairs John Mulimba, Secretary to the Treasury Ramathan Ggoobi, and NSSF Managing Director Zaake Wanume Kibedi, among other officials. UAE investors pledged to explore investment opportunities in Uganda.

According to the Ministry of Finance, UAE investments in Uganda have reached approximately $3 billion.

During her visit, Prime Minister Nabbanja also met Dr. Raja Al Gurg, one of the UAE’s leading business figures and Chair of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, who noted employment opportunities for medical professionals in Dubai.

In a similar appeal last year, President Museveni encouraged international investors to capitalize on Uganda’s untapped resources, highlighting a 6% economic growth rate and an increase in foreign direct investment from $600 million to $1.5 billion.
