Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has slammed the Business Committee of Parliament for refusal to notify her of meetings.

On Thursday, the Business Committee sat to consolidate the business to shape the 6th sitting of this session.

This session was convened by Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and attended by PM Nabbanja, Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua, committee chairpersons, among other key leaders of parliament administration.

But the meeting was heated. Premier Nabbanja is said to have queried why she is not called for the commission meetings yet she is a senior member of the commission.

Ms Nabbanja expressed anger on how she continues to be labelled as part of those who shared the taxpayer’s money.

The prime minister last attended commission meeting in March last year. The last commission meeting was held in August.

The tough talking prime minister also questioned how the budget for the leader of government business in parliament is spent to depletion without her knowledge.

The flies on walls revealed that Nabbanja does not know the activities on which her office spends its money on.

“I lead government business but money I spent and l don’t know what it is doing,” she reportedly said.

Mr Ssenyonyi confirmed the heated meeting and the contents.

“I thought l was the only one not invited for meetings of the commission but the prime minister too. She hit tables asking for explanations why she would be accused of corruption yet she has not taken any money from commission,” he said.
