President  Museveni has summoned the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus to State House on Friday for a meeting to discuss key issues affecting the country.

According to a memo sent by Government Chief Whip Hamson Denis Obua, the meeting will focus on proposed amendments to the UPDF Act and budget priorities for the financial year 2025/2026.

The meeting is mandatory for all NRM MPs and independent NRM-leaning legislators.

In preparation for the meeting, all MPs are required to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test at Parliament Conference Hall B from Wednesday to Thursday, starting at 9 am to 5 pm.

The proposed amendments to the UPDF Act are expected to be a key topic of discussion during the meeting.

The UPDF Act is a critical piece of legislation that governs the operations of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

The meeting will also discuss budget priorities for the financial year 2025/2026.

As the government prepares to present its budget, the NRM Parliamentary Caucus will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s financial priorities.

President Museveni’s decision to summon the NRM Parliamentary Caucus reflects the importance of these issues to the country’s development agenda.

The meeting is expected to provide a platform for MPs to engage in constructive dialogue and make informed decisions about the country’s future.
