President Museveni shared a glimpse of his Christmas celebrations, spent in the serene countryside of Rwakitura with his wife, Janet Museveni, children, and grandchildren.
The President described the day as “lovely,” expressing gratitude for the time shared with family away from his busy schedule.
In a Christmas message to Ugandans, President Museveni commended the nation for reaching this milestone and thanked God for keeping many people safe amidst the year’s challenges.
He acknowledged the tragedies that have marred 2024, including the Kiteezi incident and Bulambuli floods, which claimed lives, and mourned those lost.
“Despite the challenges, Uganda remains largely peaceful, and we are grateful,” the President, remarked, urging citizens to embrace reflection during this festive period.
He referenced the biblical parable of the talents, encouraging Ugandans to wisely utilize their gifts and resources.
President Museveni noted the blessings of the ongoing wet season, advising against wasteful living.
“Many waste their resources through reckless living,” he cautioned, urging farmers and citizens to make the most of the opportunities provided by nature.
On the morning of December 26th, the President visited his cows (enkoroogyi) in Rwakitura, using the moment to reiterate his call for improved farming practices.
He encouraged farmers to paddock their farms and grow nutritious grass such as orunyankokoore (Chloris Diana) to ensure better health and productivity for their livestock.
