Concerns have been raised about the effectiveness of Cabinet Ministers, with suggestions that many lack clarity on their roles and are often inaccessible.
Ms Jonathan Odur, MP for Erute South, is calling for mandatory orientation training for Ministers to address these issues.
Odur has criticized the frequent absence of Ministers from their offices and their poor responsiveness to communication.
“We, as MPs, go through orientation, but it seems this is not the case for Cabinet Ministers,” Odur said.
“Accessing them in their offices is difficult, and even text messages often go unanswered.”
He argues that proper orientation could help Ministers better understand their responsibilities and improve their availability.
“It is essential for Ministers to know their roles and be accessible to serve the public,” Odur stated. “Effective leadership is crucial for our country’s progress.”
