Mayiga Urges Ugandans to Use Wealth for Positive Impact, Not Arrogance

The prime minister of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has urged wealthy Ugandans to use their resources to improve the lives of those around them instead of displaying arrogance.

He made the remarks during a prayer and thanksgiving service for the business Man Hajji Hassan Mutaasa Kafeero at his home in Gayaza-Nakwero.

Mayiga commended Hajji Mutaasa Kafeero for his humility and generosity, calling on others to follow his example.

“Many people have passed away without leaving a record of their history. It is important to document our legacies while still alive,” he emphasised.

The ceremony drew several dignitaries, including the Supreme Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, government officials, economists, religious leaders and the members of Bagaaga Kwagalana among others

Speakers at the event including the Ambasaddor of Namibia in Uganda Godfrey Kirumira , highlighted Hajji Mutaasa Kafeero’s contributions to religious unity and community development, particularly his efforts to promote sanitation and education among the Bajjungute people who migrated from Buganda to Ankole.

Supreme mufti of Uganda Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi commended the Buganda Kingdom for its role in supporting and recognizing Hajji Kafeero’s work.

Charles Nsejjere Omutaka Mugema, the chief of the Nkima clan, expressed pride in Kafeero’s legacy and revealed th. at the clan had provided financial support during his battle with Covid-19.

As part of the event, a book honouring Hajji Mutaasa Kafeero’s life and achievements was launched.

Dr. Wilson Muwanguzi, the author, underscored the importance of preserving the stories of influential figures to inspire future generations.

The ceremony concluded with prayers and reflections on Hajji Mutaasa Kafeero’s impact, reinforcing calls for Ugandans to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
