Uganda Premier League (UPL) outfits KCCA FC have parted ways with head coach Abdallah Mubiru, effective immediately, the club has confirmed.

The announcement was made on Thursday.

“Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) and Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru have today agreed to mutually part ways with immediate effect.” the club stated on its website.

Assistant coach Kefa Kisala will also be leaving alongside Mubiru.

In light of this change, the club has named Assistant Coach Jackson Magera Kaddu as the interim Head Coach.

Mubiru, who holds a CAF ‘A’ coaching license, joined KCCA FC in November 2023, taking over from Portuguese coach Sergio Daniel Traguil.

However, his time at the club has not resulted in any trophies, which likely contributed to the decision to let him go.

His departure comes days after the club suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat to Kitara FC at Royal Park, Buteme.

Currently, KCCA FC is in 6th place in the UPL standings, with 34 points, trailing leaders Vipers SC by 18 points.
