Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, Sharifah Buzeki, has reaffirmed her commitment to creating an inclusive city for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
This pledge comes after a meeting with Authority Councillors representing PWDs, where they discussed the challenges faced by PWDs in the city and explored possible solutions.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure that Kampala becomes a city that is accessible and inclusive for all, regardless of their abilities,” said Buzeki. “We recognize the unique challenges faced by PWDs, and we are committed to addressing them through collaborative efforts with stakeholders.”
Buzeki’s commitment to inclusivity is in line with her vision for Kampala, which includes promoting waste-to-energy initiatives, improving public transportation, and enhancing transparency and accountability in KCCA’s operations.
As the newly appointed Executive Director of KCCA, Buzeki has hit the ground running, prioritizing the needs of vulnerable groups like PWDs.
Her meeting with Authority Councillors representing PWDs demonstrates her willingness to engage with stakeholders and work towards creating a better city for all.
“We will continue to work together to identify and address the challenges faced by PWDs in Kampala,” Buzeki emphasized. “Our goal is to create a city that is accessible, inclusive, and empowering for all citizens.”
