The Government, in partnership with various organisations, has officially launched the Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund.
This initiative aims to address the complex issues faced by youth, such as sexual violence, digital threats, and the protection of child rights, while also providing job opportunities for young people.
State Minister for Labor, Esther Anyakun, revealed that the program is a comprehensive three-in-one initiative. “This fund will not only address pressing issues of sexual violence and digital challenges but will also focus on enhancing child rights and preventing violence,” she stated.
The initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to creating a safer, more supportive environment for children and young people.
The fund is designed to empower youth by offering access to employment opportunities, with the goal of reducing vulnerability to exploitation and harm. It also aims to equip them with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly.
As part of this multi-faceted approach, the government intends to collaborate with local and international stakeholders to ensure the fund’s effectiveness.
This move is seen as a significant step towards addressing the challenges children face in today’s rapidly evolving world, where both physical and digital threats to their well-being are increasingly prevalent.
With this launch, the government hopes to make lasting strides in creating a safer environment for children, reducing instances of violence, and promoting their rights and economic empowerment.
