VICKY TUMWESIGYE KATOTERA’S TESTIMONY. PART 3

00:25 Praise the Lord, I am Nuwamanya Godfrey your host and the program is Shield of Faith on Rite TV.
This is the third part of our guest Vicky Tumwesigye’s testimony.
Vicky has done us well and I think that all those watching this testimony have learnt a lot most especially those who are planning for marriage or are already married.
01:02 Vicky has painted us a good picture about a successful family or life.
It’s not about having a lot of property, cows or money on your account, but having a pure life and being in union or harmony with your spouse.
1:30 In this part, lets welcome her again to tell us how important it is to get married to a born-again man or woman.
Vicky, have you found goodness in that?
1:40 There are a lot of good things because we have seen many humble couples who are happily married.
Many at times, having a lot of property doesn’t mean happiness.
2:17 The Lord was so faithful to us because we got married when both of us were already born-again Christians.
There’s nothing I do without informing him since we are always open to each other.
02:34 All that is possible if you are born again.
Even when I was coming here today, I informed him about it and he was the one supposed to drop me here but we were running late so I left him.
I am grateful to God that I am born again and I can preach the gospel and that is what I used to pray about.
Do you inform him whenever you are going for fellowships?
There’s no day that I have ever asked him for permission to go preach the word of God and he said no.
Even when the child was unwell, he would stay behind and attend to the child as I went to church.
Go fill the spirit!
That’s exactly how he used to say it and all will be well
03:40 Sometimes I leave work when I am stressed and upset, then he asks me about my inner spirit.
I recollect myself and tell him that I am not okay and feeling down.
I remember one day when I was actually a born again Christian and married but I had problems at work with my boss whom I feared so much.
My husband advised me to repent about it.
Yet it was your boss who was in the wrong!
4:10 Exactly and I feared him so much but my husband insisted that I should be the one to repent about it.
I did not know how to deal with it because my boss would end up sacking me.
That is the importance of having a companion who is a born-again Christian otherwise he would have suggested that we resort to witchcraft.
5:00 And indeed I went and asked my boss for forgiveness for hating him and I told him that I am born again and I want to go to heaven.
Guess what he replied; He said I wish we had more of you here at Civil Aviation everything would be well.
He ended up liking me so much and I liked him too as a boss.
5:20 He had no idea that I hated him but I ended up liking him and that is the importance of getting married to a born-again companion.
Thanks to Fred for being born again and guiding you well.
05:38 Secondly, he loves our children so much and on top of that he loves Jesus. So, every time he sits with them, they are always discussing bible issues.
Our boys were too stubborn so I used to beat them but he told me that beating children is not the best way of raising them, I should instead talk to them and quote a verse from the bible whenever they do wrong.
He knows the whole bible in his head.
06:54 Our children are still in primary level and they will be joining secondary soon but as you know, the world is crazy these days.
We pray to God that He sees them through that delicate and sensitive stage.
They know how to pray in English and Runyankole and each one of them has a day to lead us in prayer.
Now we are teaching them how to read a Runyankole bible and during the Covid19 pandemic lockdown, they used to read the bible for their grandmother.
It was all made possible by the Grace of God.
07:55 So it’s my wish that we also give our children a good foundation because if it wasn’t for our parents, maybe we would not be where we are today.
I can assure you because of that foundation I have never had any problems with my in-laws.
Kitara church has also helped so much because it taught us how to behave in public, as responsible ladies and gentlemen and as marrieds.
09:00 My home was always open to my elders so that I would be advised and guided whenever I was in the wrong.
I was raised under the foundation of the Awakened Christians.
09:33 The Christ in us has kept us together and in as much as we haven’t reached the peak of our lives, we will get there like what was written in the letter of Paul to the Ephesians.
I tend to love worldly things but I am glad that I have a calm husband by my side to guide me.
10:23 Then I also have Kitara church of Uganda which has also played a big role in my salvation journey, especially the Thursday online fellowship, so that’s the grace and the Jesus in me.
10:47 Whenever Jesus is present, the darkness goes away and He levels the ground for all to be well.
Whenever Jesus is present, even the man will know his responsibilities to his family.
The things you are telling us that Fred does are the exact things every man is supposed to do in his home.
The bible tells us that what makes a man the head is one, you become the priest, the reverend and pastor of your home.
When you were telling me what he does for his children, I saw exactly what a God-fearing parent is expected of doing and what all parents are expected to do.
The parent who does not read the bible for his children is foolish; I do feel sorry for saying this.
11:44 The parent who does not show his children the right path is like washing clothes and drying them in the dirt.
The bible tells us in Proverbs, that train up a child in a way they should go and there is no other true path but through Christ.
He has said it in the scriptures that he is the way, the truth and life.
So, there is no other path except through Christ.
We would like to thank Fred in absentia but I know he is watching this program, for the good job he is doing in his home and for fulfilling his responsibility as a man.
12:34 He is indeed the head of the household and he has achieved it well.
12:36 So, Vicky as we wind up, is there any word of wisdom that you would like to share with us most especially the young girls who are planning to get married or those who have already started their marriage journey?
Is there anything you would like to advise them to emulate given your experience in marriage and salvation?
Praise the Lord.
13: 04 God is never too late and we all know that.
There is always a reason whenever He is late and His reward is genuine.
13:33 I would like to advise young girls not to rush into marriage because it hurts to hear that a marriage has only lasted for a month.
Sorry for cutting you short but you hear that a girl gave birth a week after her introduction ceremony.
I used to wonder how that was even possible when I was still into worldly things but God saw me though it all.
14:34 So my advice to the young girls or married couples is to seek God.
If we walk with God, He will bless us with the right men.
The Lord tells us to do His work and His WILL, will be done.
My advice to young girls and the married women, is to walk with Christ.
Let us preach God’s word through testimonies and fellowships and He will reward us
15:00 There is no day I ever regretted that I wish I had ended up with my former boyfriend and it has never even crossed my mind.
15:10 I am not into material things and I am contented with whatever we have in our home, we have peace.
I am not saying all this because I am in front of a camera.
15:39 We agree on everything we do in our home; he is a quiet man and I am talkative.
I can assure you that our children have never seen us quarrel at all. I believe there is no day our children will say we saw mummy and Dad fight each other or exchange harsh words.
16:00 Imagine a man telling you hash words! I find it so strange. I used to experience that with my brothers who are not born gain and it would hurt me so much, saying such a word to your wife?!
Why do you have to use words that hurt her?
16:24 So God has been good to us.
My dear sisters, let us walk with Christ.
Take for example the Shield of Faith fellowship group, every time I look at such young people walk with Christ, I keep asking myself if they are real and if they are, then we really thank God for that.
16:46 Even if it’s just 10 people who are true with Christ, that is good enough and I keep boasting and telling people in my village that we have true born-again Christians in Kampala.
17:06 Bishop Steven Namanya made a comment saying that there are more born-again Christian in Kampala than in the villages.
We praise God for that.
17: 28 I always thank God whenever I see the youth seriously getting saved and testifying with all honesty about how they used to take drugs, alcohol, fornicate, masturbate etc.
I say yes, they have the true Christ.
Without Christ, one can never do so.
Where do you get the strength to do so?
18:08 So, I conclude my advice by saying that always walk with Christ because He never fails.
There is no single girl that I know of who walks with Christ and is not married, I don’t know of any.
It might start slow during the salvation journey but eventually, God does wonders.
Walk with Jesus Christ because He is the answer to everything.
19:00 The late brethren Yosam Muchokori used to say that Jesus Christ is the answer to everything.
How I wish all brethren would know that.
19:20 Jesus Christ is the answer to everything because he quenchers the thirst of money, men and all other worldly things.
Most especially the challenges that are coming up in this era.
Girls focusing on the things of the world instead of focusing on Christ.
19:50 We have the testimony of our grandfathers who were poor but they had Christ and they are the ones that educated their children who are leading the country now.
Women and young girls, Christ is the answer to everything.
20:00 Just don’t mind about the situation you are in now, be it a husband who is a drunkard or one who is promiscuous, just trust in The Lord.
One day I read a book of the seventh day Adventists that said ‘’we win while on our knees’’ I read and completed it but what touched me most was teaching about praying, he quoted somewhere in the book and said “how can some women not pray for their husbands?”
20: 48 So I also learnt that. if your has no job, pray for him, if he comes back home late and drunk just pray.
The title of the book is called “We win while on our knees.”
Praise the Lord.
21:35 We have come to the end of our program and we really appreciate you for your time on this show that is watched by the whole world.
It is not a simple thing to come here and open up your life for us to see.
21:56 There is something that has come up these days, Christians no longer tell the truth about their lives especially when things change for the better. But we thank you for having the courage to come and tell us about your life.
22: 15 Thank you for preaching the gospel. As Rite TV we are change agents. God is rising us up today to impact people’s lives by preaching about Christ.
You have supported us this mission and the world is watching you and indeed all those that need healing and change, will change because of the words you have said.
Please give us your last word and may be if there is also a word for Fred.
23:00 Praise God our viewers, there is a proverb that says the mouth only speaks what the heart feels.
So everywhere I go I speak about the goodness of God whether it’s at an event or at the airport where I work, a place filled with temptations of rich men.
I am not among those women who need financial support from those men.
23: 53 So the only thing I do and I am so proud of is preaching the true gospel and giving true testimonies.
Why not? If the devil made you waste yourself, why can’t we also testify the goodness of God?
24:10 So my last word is to preach the Gospel, repentance and fellowshipping and knowing God as your personal saviour.
Lastly, I thank my husband for being a true Christian and for giving me peace because I have peace in my heart and I cannot say that it’s by my might or my husband’s might but by God’s might.
He is the one who has done it for us. So, I am grateful to God.
24:42 I thank God for the salvation, I thank God for our parents’ salvation because they gave us a good and strong foundation. Salvation alone is the answer to everything.
24:55 let us wind up.
25:20 We thank God so much for our guest Vicky Tumwesigye who has done us so well today and all of you who were following us can testify to that.
Some writer called Jack once said ……………….,…………………..,…………..
That all these things will be important but these three will be more important, how well we live, how well we love and how well we have learnt to let go of the things that do not matter to us and just focus on Christ.
Until next time bye.
