I made an agreement with God and I said if I ever get married I should never make some’s daughter smell alcohol. And I also love kids so much so I also said if I get married and get children I should never make them smell alcohol
I would picture my kids looking at me or welcoming me home when Iam drunk and trying to imitate me. And indeed one day I went with them to my fellowship and when we came back home. They started imitating me showing their mum, how I was dancing in the fellowship.
When I saw them do that, said in my heart …so that’s how they would be imitating me if I came back drunk?! And I really thanked God that it did not happen and it’s what they would have learnt from me.
I really thank God that my children will not learn any of my past sins from me? We sing together, pray together and fellowship and now they know some gospel songs, some scriptures
Marriage is very good. First of all am naturally a very honest person. When we were at Campus, I was true to her and she knew exactly who I was. And when she came home it’s exactly what she found, I was the same person she used to hear or see.
Why am I saying that? She knew who Obed was at all time and that was our firm ground in marriage. The reason for many broken marriages today is because we prioritize worldly things more than real life, for instance a guy at campus would borrow a car just to go and show off to a girl he is dating so a girl can think he is rich or he rents a very expensive house just because they want to impress a girl and after the girl has accepted to marry him the reality comes in and problems start right away
If you start your marriage and you are genuine and you don’t fake your life and you stay the original one the woman /man will love you for who you are and it will help them to make a decision.
But if you fake your life and the woman comes to you thinking you are something you are not in future it will bring problems in your marriage. If you stay original it help your partner to be patient with you in case of any change or problem.
My marriage is good because of grace. First of all I have been true to her from the time we met.
Then we added also the tablet of salvation, and that tablet spread the whole family and our lives. I was original and when I added salvation it became so easy and good for both of us.
Imagine when I was still fornicating ,there was a girl I was sleeping with and I used to call myself her name and she would also call herself my name.
Stupidity and blindness made me do it because I loved her so I took her name and she gave me hers,
I would call my self Obed Ndyamuba then I would add her name even of my facebook account I had put it. So even at Campuss my fiancée knew me as Obed Ndyamuba and the other name of the girl. And bambe for her she did not know that It was for the girl.
So when I got married I told her about it also, I said the third name is not my name it’s for some girl I used to waste time with. So confessing my sins to her all the time helped me also a lot, because am in the world am in the fresh and blood.
The tablet of salvation that I swallowed really worked on me generally, on my ego and all the sins I had. It helped us understand each other.
My wife is a person who prays so much so some times when I become wild she tells me,, the good thing you are born again so I know you will repent, and I answer her saying I will not. But the Holy Spirit always convicts me to repent.
We are in the world searching and we are not yet there but its repentance that helps us go on with salvation. We have hope and it is our foundation, it keeps us going forward. Secondary we do not get tired of repentance, confessing our sins to each other whenever we fall short of the glory of God.
The beauty of our marriage is repentance.
The reason I thank the lord for, is that even though there is a lot of getting spoilt of our generation, we have a refuge .Like Paul says in the book of Corinthians that; the foundation is already laid but you should know how to build on that foundation.
Therefore we thank God for the true gospel of revival that laid a foundation for us. I know that our fathers (revivalists) had four pillars they followed; Repentance, walking in light, restitution (taking back) foristance telling people your life without fear or favour.
First of all when I told my wife about the girl I was sleeping with, that was restitution, secondary, when I was at Kitunga ss I got 2400sh from a fellow student.
When I got save I looked for his number, I called him and sent him his moneyback and I told him I got born again. Then all the girls I slept with, whenever I got a chance to talk to them I would tell them that I am a changed person because I got saved.
On the point of business, I have to repent every day. Because with business you met a lot of people with different behaviors and a lot of challenges but because of that tablet of salvation it helps me to wash always.
The devil comes to steal and destroy our lives but if you have the Holy Spirit hidden in you, he keeps reminding you to repent whenever there is a mistake.
In Mathew 21:12 Jesus went into the Temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple and over turned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves .
So when Jesus came into my heart he turned upside down the table where the devil used to trade my life, my future and my marriage, so that he can take away anything good in me and he puts wrong.
Like he made me chose alcohol over sciences, but now I serve God. So when God came into my life he overthrow the table, the devil can have a table in your life, in your marriage and in everything.
The 14th verse says that…Those who were blind and lame came to the temple and he healed them. When he came into my life he put me back me on truck. When you have Jesus he has everything both of the spiritual and of the fresh.
Hymn 244. I have a friend in Jesus who loved me. Sing ……sing. That friend who loved me before I loved him, He gave his only son to die for me and it is the strength I have now.
Praise God, Paul confirms these words in Romans 5:8 that’s how God shows his love when he died for us while we were still sinners.
My final word is, if any youth could know / find themselves and know who they are. The problem with us the youth is we want worldly things yet we do not know the process at which we have to go through to get them.
And the devil has put shortcuts for us, before we get jobs we bribe, or girls sleep with employers, even women managers ask guys who come to them for jobs to sleep with them. We know these things and we have seen them happen.
What am I trying to say? Go through the process so that when u have your things you will have peace all the time. Imagine u cheated someone to get the land where your house is and now when you’re sleeping the voice keeps coming to remind you of that.
Wait upon the lord and at the right time he will come out for you and rise you. He will help you go through the process of marriage, prosperity, education etc.
When I got married I struggled financially so much ,that’s the time I got saved and most of the people I called my friends ..They all disappeared. I remember asking God, why me? I looked at my friends who were well off and we were same age and I even seemed better than them but they were far well off than me..
They seemed well off and peaceful and I asked God why me? And the voice came so clearly and told me…Obed u had assembled yourself and now that you are mine I want disassemble you.
Disassembling is painful because they are restoring you to the factory settings. It’s the same as when u want to restore your phone to the factory settings. So I was in the process of being disassembling and re assembling.
We have to allow that there is a process of disassembling and re assembling. And I can assure you when God has started on re assembling you… It can really be sweet.
I kindly beg you to accept Jesus Christ, its where there is peace… Not in worldly things because the pandemic has taught us a lot. We have seen people leave their wealth and die.
But there is one who does not die, who does not change his words or who does not forsake you. He who did not forsake me after all that I did and he changed me to be a father, husband or a son and made me reconcile with my parents.
cigarate would not allow me to come near my parents because I was always smelling. But now we are so close that he even whispers to me. He even spends a night at my place and he tells me that if u did not change I would not be coming to your home.
When God restores you to the factory settings back to the foundation the process becomes good. May the lord be with you?
