Good mental health or good stress management is a product of the kind of tools we apply in life. When we need good physical health, we need to eat a good meal and so when we need good mental health, we need to eat good soul food.
What is good soul food?
Peace, hope, encouragement, cultivating positive thoughts, forgiveness and many others are the elements of good soul food for mental health.
The scripture gives us all these good soul foods.
The word of God encourages us to live in peace and if we paid attention to it, we would be able to avert or manage stress very well.
How about hope? We all have moments when things are not going well but if you know that another day is an opportunity to start afresh and His mercies are new every day, we are encouraged to live better.
Talking about forgiveness which is the hardest thing to do especially when we are hurt by loved ones, how do we deal with this?
It is very hard but when we do God’s will, it is harder though it bears a lot of fruits because it gives wellness. There is nothing as complicated and as draining as the life of unforgiveness so we need to be able to pay attention to some of these things which seem difficult but are absolutely rewarding.
How about encouragement? Mental health is from such little things like encouragement. Imagine going through a challenge and then someone comes and says “relax, it will be well.”
Connecting with a higher power and knowing that there is a God up there or here with us who supports us, who understands us, who loves us unconditionally, who gives us hope every day, who is able to deal with our situations is quite the magnitude of it.
That is why we pray and say that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond.
So, some of the things that you can’t see, just know that God is to do it. Connect with the Lord because you need physical benefits.
For good mental health, there is a lot of benefit.
