Like you have all heard, it is written in God’s word that it is possible. Do you all agree that it is possible? We are still here with sister Naomi Kyakunzire Karongo who grew up in a family where all siblings were step brothers and sisters. Eventually she realized that she lacked nothing because so many people loved her and provided for her like you heard in the first part of her testimony. Naomi grew up in a home of pagans where her own father used to encourage her to drink alcohol. She is our guest for today and a born again. 01:15 She grew up in a home that did not have so much wealth which hindered them from going further with their studies but she decided to take her own children to India for further studies. All things are possible indeed! Let us welcome her in this second part of her testimony. 01:39 Did your husband agree to selling the cows? The mighty power of God came upon him. When I took him out of church to talk to him about taking our sons to India, he was curious to know whose car it was that had brought me to church. I told him that it was my brother’s car, Nathan Byamukama. I told him that it was him who had proposed to us to sell cows and money for our sons to go and study in India and then have their forms filled out. To him, that was so fast. It sounded so easy! I suggested to him that we go home with the people I was with and discuss it further over a drink.
He went back inside the church, picked his walking stick and hat, got into the car and we went home. When we reached home, I served tea to our guests, then my husband and I went out to discuss in privacy since we had a one roomed house. I told him that if he thought it was possible, we would go ahead with the idea and if he thought it was not, then we would inform our guests and they leave. He said he wouldn’t miss out on such an opportunity, after all he was not in position to manage many cows so selling some of them for the interest of the children was not a bad idea. I did not know where our sons used to keep their academic certificates. I went to the house and got those that I was able to find and then called our sons to get us the rest which they had with them in Mbarara. The documents were given to my brother and they drove off. All things are possible indeed because as soon as they had left, we got a buyer for the 8 calves and he gave us Ugx.11millions. 0 My husband asked me to call my brother to come and pick the money then the academic documents were scanned and sent electronically to Kampala in advance. They came and picked the money, filled the forms online and within one week, they left for India. With faith in God, it was possible for my sons to go for further studies.
My husband George, thought that the Ugx.11millions was enough to take care of our sons’ studies in India for the 3 years that they were meant to complete their courses. But my brother had earlier on explained to me that it would require a lot more money and I had faith that it would be possible. I believed in the power of prayer and I knew that it would be possible so, I resorted to praying. In four months as they were about to complete their first semester, the money was over because it was catering for their tuition, upkeep and accommodation since in India, two people are not allowed to share a room. So, we were paying 500,000/= per month a room for each. Remember some of the money was used during the registration process and for their air tickets. My brother told me that we needed more money for our sons and I told him to hold on until the end of the semester so he settled the balance. I did not know how to go back to my husband for more money when he had just sold his 8 calves yet his sons were in a foreign country. It was less than a year! True. But with God, everything is possible. I can imagine you facing your husband and asking him for more money. I decided to first do all I could do by selling my goats as well as getting help from my friends but it was like a drop in the ocean.
Amidst all that, I decided to tell my brother in-law, Samuel Byaruhanga about it. He came and talked to my husband and told him that educating a child is not an easy task, so he had to sacrifice since the children this time were his. We told him the whole truth about what it takes to educate a child and especially in a foreign country. You can imagine what happened, it was a very dark and difficult moment for us but deep down in my heart I was very sure that the Lord would make a way. I am extremely grateful to my husband George and I talk about it wherever I go. People blamed me that I had made my husband become poor and I was inconsiderate for taking Karongo’s kids to study in India. But the Lord knew that all that would turn into a testimony and indeed it did. One relative called Kamwata blamed my husband for allowing a woman to control him. Good enough my husband was born again so he reminded me that those were our children and it was our responsibility to have them educated. We went ahead, sold our cows, educated our children and life went on. Time came and the number of cows had really reduced so much, yet the children still had a semester to go, we ended up selling one of our best cows which was in calf.
It was from that same cow that we expected to get some good amount of milk. We even tried seeking sponsorship from the government, in vain. My husband would insist that I should be the one to meet with the government officials to seek for help because he thought that I was more educated than him, yet I was just like him only that I was a mother. One day there was going to be a conference for the born again at the diocese where they were expecting the head of state as the guest of honour. It so happened that I got wind of the President’s visit to North Ankole Diocese. He was going to Grace a conference at the Diocese as the Guest of Honour. I was determined to get the support from him after all I had tried all the possible avenues. So, I made photocopies of my sons’ academic documents so that I could seek financial support from the president but unfortunately, I learnt from Bishop Namanya that the President wouldn’t make it but would be represented by Sam Kuteesa instead. The information only exacerbated my anxiety. So, I knelt down and asked the bishop to pray for me because I was worried about my sons. He prayed in just a few words and I felt like the heavens had opened up.
Eventually, I left. As I was about to get to the tarmac road, I heard my phone ringing in the bag. When I checked to see the caller, it was Enid Mwesigye, I knew that God had started moving, His wonders to perform. I knew it was possible though by this time, my sons had been evicted from their accommodation rooms in India for nonpayment. They had sent me a message telling me how they had been evicted and that had been a killer. I went for days without eating. I thought I was going crazy. she was asking whether our sons had completed their studies and I told her that they had not yet completed. I told her that I had come with some documents seeking for financial support but it did not go as expected. I also told her that they had been evicted from their hostel. She promised to give me 1.5million shillings to send to them. I realized that the Lord had started doing wonders because He is faithful and with Him all things are possible. I went and withdrew the money that she had sent on my mobile phone and sent it to my sons; the Lord was doing miracles indeed. The issue of accommodation was settled. However, the situation became worse because we failed to raise money for tuition for their final semester. So once again our faith in God got tested. If we were able to raise money for the other semesters, I was sure we would raise that as well.
The Lord wanted me to know that nothing is impossible for Him. What made the situation more painful was that our sons were not studying anymore. So, we did not know whether to have them expatriated or not. Even then, we did not have money for their tickets back home. One day while I was sweeping, a song came to my mind, not that I was in the mood for worshipping but the Lord brought that to me so that He could get my attention. “I can see mountains in front of me obscuring me from focusing ahead but you Jesus, are able to remove that obstruction’’ Do not mind my poor voice as long as I am singing for the Lord. I couldn’t tell why that particular song came to my mind but I sang it over and over again. I gained the courage to even put in more verses about marriages, lack of money, people gossiping and so on and so forth. I sat down and continued singing. I believe I got filled by the holy spirit. So, I went on my knees and cried out to God. My husband then suggested that we sell the land where we were staying and go buy somewhere cheaper in Bwera then use the balance from the sale for our sons’ tuition. However, we discovered that the land that we wanted to buy in Bwera had wrangles. But to God, everything is possible. Jesus said “come to me all you who are heavy ladened and I will give you rest.” So, everything is possible unless when you do not have faith. We had no right over that land. I knew that we were in for trouble so I called on to the Lord and guess what, I was filled with the holy spirit which gave me hope that all was possible because nothing is impossible to God.
I knew that God would deal with all the obstacles. My husband then told me that the buyers were coming to survey our land the following morning. 1That sent chills down my body but then I knew that with God, all things were possible. I got a call from brethren Sheila Mwine who requested that I accompany her to Buremba but I did not have the courage to appear before people. I was so depressed because of what was going on. So, I called on to the Lord to intervene so that I could get some peace. Then I asked Sheila to call my husband George and ask for his permission. She then called my husband who was already with buyers surveying the land. She asked my husband if I could accompany her to Buremba and he agreed to it so I requested her to send a car to pick us. 1The car came and picked us up. You went to Buremba. Yes, we went and, on our way, back, I told her that we got buyers who had come to survey our land for sale. She told me to calm down because she was going to take care of all our sons’ bills and I would be reunited with my sons very soon. She said that our sons would pay her back when they started working and earning an income. 15:46 And even if they failed to payback, it would still be okay after all she was also their aunt.
She asked me to meet her the following morning in Rushere at exactly 6:00a.m. Did I even sleep that night?! I woke up in the wee hours of the night, prepared and jumped onto a motor bike which I had booked earlier. I went to Mbarara and when I saw her, she gave me all the money. Actually, she wanted to give me more but I told her that 6millions Uganda shillings would be enough. She gave me 6millions Uganda shillings and I felt I had become rich instantly. I sent the money to clear all our sons’ debts and I even had enough left to cater for their air tickets back home. I went back home a rich woman. I even bought my husband some bread to eat. It was possible. It was possible indeed. I thanked and praised the Lord for that. My husband was also very grateful to God and he even suggested that we organize a welcoming ceremony for our sons. It was possible. It was possible indeed. We gave the glory to God. Praise be to God. All you have to do is repent of all your sins, accept Christ as your Lord and saviour and leave the rest to Him because He is a wonder working God. Praise God. People were amazed, they couldn’t believe that we could also afford to have our children study from India. It was God’s work.
God performed miracles for us. We even built a much better and bigger house. So, we moved out of that small house to the big one. One of my sons, the older twin Kakuru, was getting married so my husband suggested that he moves in in our old small house. I cried out to the Lord because I learnt that in the journey of salvation, I had to surrender everything that I loved. I was blind about many things in regard to salvation and I got saved, He forgave my promiscuity so why wouldn’t He have mercy on our son and give him a new house?! 18:10 I even reminded Him how He revealed to me Psalms 37:23 which reads, “The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him, though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.” He even said His children would never lack food so why was the Lord letting our son move in with his wife in an old house?! My husband had kept 4millions Uganda shillings with me to use for buying tiles for our house. So, I called my son Kakuru and the construction engineer, and I asked them to join me to call on to the Lord, because He listens and with Him, all things are possible. I sat down, looked above with my eyes open and I cried out to the Lord because I could never allow my son to bring his bride in that old house.
Imagine his bride always walking the long distance to come up the hill to visit us just because we were unable to build a house for our son near our new home? He is the Lord of everything so I asked Him to once again intervene like He did when we did not have money for paying tuition for our sons. Praise God. The Lord answered my prayers. Of the 4millions, I gave 1.5millions as deposit for the tiles to the construction engineer and remember, those were the days of the Covid19 pandemic. I then asked him to use the remaining 2.5millions to buy building materials that he would use to construct a new house for our son. He was scared that my husband would get angry if we used the money meant for tiles to construct a new house for son. I told him that I would deal with my husband regarding that. He brought his workers and they started taking measurements and preparing to begin on the foundation. When my husband came back home, he found the workers laying the foundation. He wanted to know what was going on. I told him that may be our son had got some money which he was going to use to build himself a new house. He then asked whether the tiles that he had sent for had been brought; you know my husband is not so inquisitive.
I told him that the hardware shop where we had paid for the tiles, was closed during the Covid19 pandemic period. He asked whether we had been given receipts to prove that we paid and I told him yes, and the tiles would be delivered anytime. Little did he know that it was his Ugx.4millions meant for buying tiles which we had diverted to building our son’s new house and even then, we were not able to complete what we were trying to do so I was worried about the consequences of diverting the funds. But God does wonders and nothing is impossible with Him. I was stuck since the construction work was incomplete and yet the days to the wedding were near. Then my husband gave me more money. With that money, we were able to complete fitting in tiles in our house as well as completing construction of our son’s house. We were also able to put up boys’ quarters, and an outside kitchen and a perimeter wall. Therefore, it is possible. You can never fail if you put your trust in the Lord because with Him, all things are possible. You are blessed to be born again when you are still young because when you put your trust in Him, He will never forsake you. All things are possible indeed. The Lord blessed us with 5 sons and 1 daughter; then we were later blessed with a granddaughter.
I am so peaceful because I am born again. I told my daughter in law that she was blessed to find me born again because she will never see the bad side of me. I do not favour some children and ignore others. My husband invited his niece to live with us. I have raised her together with my children and paid for her child’s education who has now completed Senior 4. So, all things are possible. All things are possible indeed. Praise be to God, Naomi. Praise Him. I don’t know how you would have managed if it weren’t for God’s grace. Your testimony has brought hope in me because the scripture we read earlier; still rings a bell in my mind. It is possible indeed All those watching us should know that all things are possible. You have all listened to Naomi’s testimony, all things are possible because even when she was raised in a pagan home where they were encouraged to drink alcohol but then she became born again. All things are possible because even when they did not have so much money, they were able to educate their children in India. It is possible because they were able to build a better house and the Lord has put them in a better position. We are about to wind up; so I am kindly requesting you to please look into the camera and give us your words of advice and encouragement.
Many people out there are hopeless and feel like giving up on life. Kindly instill hope in them and tell them that all things are possible because the God who did wonders for others is still the same God who will perform miracles for them as well and He never changes. In the book of Isaiah 59 it is written, “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.” The Lord’s arm still saves many. Please encourage those watching us and we wind up. I would like to tell our dear viewers, young and old, ladies and gentlemen that our Lord is a mighty God. Just know that there is a mighty power above everything else. It doesn’t matter whether you are so educated or you are so wealthy or so good looking or tall, He is above all that. It couldn’t have been possible for me to be hosted here and I wouldn’t have been able to achieve all that I did like you have heard in my testimony if it weren’t for the faithful Lord who made it all possible. He can do wonderful things. Many people face challenges in life and then one wonders why powerful people are brought low; it is because they did not follow God’s will. He is a mighty powerful God who can never be defeated by anything be it moving mountains, so do not underestimate Him. His ways are not our ways.
There is one woman who was working as a maid for a rich family and she had 3 children with some man who abandoned her with the children. In the process, the lady of the house asked her to leave their home because she thought the maid and her children were a burden to them. When the woman and her 3 children left, they went on the streets and my 2 sons who studied in India were still in primary at the time. They used to see them on their way to school. At that time, we were only able to get 9litres of milk a day from our cows; then later it increased to 14litres. So, I would always take off 3litres daily without my husband’s permission, hide it somewhere and then my sons would take it to that woman and her 3 kids. Oh dear. That time when we were facing challenges of raising money for tuition, one of our sons cried out to the Lord to provide like He did provide for that woman and her 3 kids. I thank God that my sons could still remember that woman and her kids and so they used that as their basis for claiming miracles. And God did answer their prayers. Whenever we are saying the Lord’s prayer, we always say, “may your kingdom come.” God has His ways of doing things. Yes indeed. Much as He might do things as He wishes, He still does wonders.
He does things when He wishes. I helped that woman and her 3 kids and in return Jesus helped my sons and He is still doing wonders for them. Praise God. So I call upon brethren to trust in the Lord because with Him everything is possible. It is written in 1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain.” By the grace of God. Yes, and God’s grace is upon each one of us. It is by God’s grace that I have been hosted on this show. It is by His grace that He did all that for me. Salvation is a very good thing indeed because your sins will be forgiven and the Lord will do mighty things for you. Trust in the Lord. I vowed to always follow Christ. I am proud to be born again at my age. You have done us so well indeed. We thank the Lod for your testimony. All things are possible indeed. I normally tell people that 3 weeks just after our wedding, my wife fell sick and was diagnosed with a kidney problem. We never had a honeymoon. But my wife never died and she is still alive. We spent 7 years in a childless marriage but later God blessed us with a child. So, all things are possible indeed.
