Alupo in Russia for Eurasian women’s Forum

The Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo early this morning arrived in the Russian Federation to attend the 4th Eurasian Women’s Forum slated to officially begin today.

The Vice President was received at Pulkovo International Airport by Uganda’s Deputy Head of Mission in Russia, Mwebaze Gideon Rutazindwa, Uganda’s Defense Attache Brig. Gen. Patrick Black Tumwesigye and Ms. Ekaterina Belotsvetova- Consultant at the International Relations Department of the Federation Council (Senate) of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

During the grand opening of the ceremony, the Vice President will lead a team of six members at the Africa-Russia Women’s Dialogue with a presentation titled; New trends in International Cooperation. The Forum is running from September 18th-20th, 2024 in Saint-Petersburg.

The Eurasian Women’s Forum is a major influential international platform that enables women leaders from all continents to engage in a dialogue and adopt joint decisions on key issues concerning international cooperation, sustainable economic development, the assimilation of new technologies, a healthy lifestyle, environmental safety, and the promotion of social charitable projects.

The Forum is attended by women parliamentarians, representatives of the executive authorities, international organizations, the business and scientific communities, public organisations, charitable projects, and respected members of the international women’s movement from numerous countries around the world.

The event is organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Inter parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS). The Forum operator is the Roscongress Foundation.This year’s forum is organised under the main theme, ‘Women for Strengthening Trust and Global Cooperation’.
