U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Israel’s Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, according to the State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
The Secretary reiterated his profound condolences for the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel and reaffirmed unequivocal U.S. support for Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens against this attack. The Secretary and the Minister made clear that the terrorist actions of Hamas have no justification, no legitimacy, and must be universally condemned.
n a call between President Biden and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. President detailed that ammunition, Iron Dome interceptors, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, and other defense material had arrived or was on its way to Israel.
He also told Netanyahu that all countries should unequivocally condemn Hamas’s brutal atrocities, which are akin to the atrocities of ISIS from many years ago.
The two leaders agreed they will speak again in the coming days.
